This is your daily song calendar - every day there is a new song or music video waiting for you. Maybe you hate it, maybe you love it - maybe you already know it or maybe you'll just discover something new! Either way, it's all about the music and a little bit about the lyrics. And since you're here, I will share what I've learned over the years: An apple a day keeps the doctor away but if the doctor is cute - screw the fruit!

Graffiti 6 - Stare Into The Sun
A: Graffiti 6
S: Stare Into The Sun
C: Annie You Save Me (out 05.07.10)
I actually don't really know if I'm posting this because of the video or the song. Anyway, Graffiti 6 are the next big thing to happen, and apparently the lazy bastards haven't made a video of their own yet. No judgement.
The video is Ian Stevenson's piece of art, if you didn't figure it out yourself, here is what it is all about: Revealing the world of a strange small man, who spends his days away from the world. While divulging in strange pleasures he is suddenly thrown into a fantastical journey.

Midnight Juggernauts - Into the Galaxy
A: Midnight Juggernauts
S: Into the Galaxy
C: Dystopia
New stuff from down under, Melbourne. The band has been described as anything from 'prog dance meets cosmic film scores', to 'slasher-flick disco' to 'deadpan landscape'. I like 'slasher-flick disco' most.
There would have been more interesting songs to post than this one, but then there wouldn't have been a video, so we're stuck with this one at the moment. Wait for more!

Rolling Stones - Rocks Off
A: Rolling Stones
S: Rocks Off
C: Exile On Main Street
On hot sunny summer days like today, you simply have to go '70s. You should go '70s at least once a day, any day. '60s and '80s on every other day. But on a day like today, you have to go '70s, you have to get rolling, you have to get stoning!
By the way: Super 8 footage was shot by Robert Frank of The Rolling Stones in LA and NY, 1971. Rephotographed by Frank for the cover of 'Exile On Main Street'.

William Fitzsimmons - If You Would Come Back Home
A: William Fitzsimmons
S: If You Would Come Back Home
C: The Sparrow and the Crow
According to William, all his songs, which he labels 'soul-metal-folk', sound quite the same. They probably kind of do, but since they are all so beautiful, it doesn't really matter. To me, William's voice must be the most beautiful ever recorded, although beautiful doesn't really fit as description. That's the stunning thing about it, it's beyond any description.

Division Kent - Faraday Cage

RIP Andrea Bleuler Neeser.
Division Kent have always been an act far beyond any Swiss standard.

Rox - I Don't Believe
A: Rox
S: I Don't Believe
C: Memories (out 04.06.10)
The good thing about talent is you know it when you see it, or in Roxanne Tataei case, when you hear it.
Her debut album 'Memories' is bound to bring conviction to your sound-system; A powerful voice on a stage with a tale or two to tell. Half Jamaican and half Iranian, at the tender old age of 21, her songs are the fortuitous result of hard graft and a singular minded headspace.
.. at least that's what it says on her myspace site .. on herspace site.

Leona Naess - Leave Your Boyfriends Behind
A: Leona Naess
S: Leave Your Boyfriends Behind
C: Thirteens
Leona was born in New York, grew up in London, and moved back to the big apple when she was 18. She modeled for Calvin Klein before starting out in the music business. Whatever.
Anyway, definitely both beautiful in appearance and talent, I mostly like the title of her second album 'I Tried To Rock You But You Only Roll'.
