Look who's back. After last year's release of his stunnilicious solo album 'Maximum Balloon', which I had on never stopping heavy repeats, TV On The Radio mastermind, DJ in demand and oh so popular producer David Sitek rejoins his fellow band troubadours to release a record called Nine Types Of Light. The band's website says it's out on the 12th of April, iTunes says the 8th. I say: Stay tuned.

This should be fun: They describe themselves as 'Tropical Psychedelic Pop'. I like the tropical. Ok here's a confession: Sometimes when I am out and about and I see people I know in the streets or on the bus and they don't see me while there is a track I love playing on my headphones (and there always is), I ignore them so I can continue listening to the song. It's not antisocial, it's just me.

How stunning is this? The perfect little soundtrack for a day like today. After being teased with summer's first crispy rays of sun, the rain is a reminder that not everything in life moves quite as fast as you want them to. Sometimes they don't move at all, and sometimes you get more than you wished for. At least that's the way how I think it's meant to be.

I heart The Pains of Being Pure at Heart! They have one of the best band names ever, because size matters and the longer the better. I love the husky male voice not trying to be anything bigger than it is, and I adore the simplicity of the cleverly written words that evoke feelings which are larger than life. It is nothing else than songwriting at its best.

I've read that Jonathan Jeremiah is something close to Jesus, saving us from today's bad music. That is probably a tad exaggerated, for I think we are in a great musical year in 2011. But I do like the idea of music being compared to religion, in a way. At least it is the only thing I believe in. Think of it as a church, and decide for yourself whether God is a Dj or not.
