Die Antwoord - Baby's On Fire

A: Die Antwoord
S: Baby's On Fire
C: Ten$ion

I love the video more than anything. And that is everything I have to say today.

... I'm a wild child - I don't wanna go to bed.

Robert Francis - Some Things Never Change

A: Robert Francis
S: Some Things Never Change
C: Strangers In The First Place

It's Robert Francis. What's with that name? Sorry inside joke. Anyway, Strangers In The First Place is a great great second album, I think. It trumps the debut by miles. Where as his first record had a couple of fantastic songs on it, this album is just one fantastic album in itself. Every song a little jewel. And it sounds completely effortless.

... what came first, and in between - a carnival of made up dream.

WhoMadeWho - Running Man & The Sun

A: WhoMadeWho
S: Running Man & The Sun
C: Brighter

It's WhoMadeWho! My favorite Danish band! And Good Boy! Don't know who that is but this is the creative finish off their acclaimed "Pitfalls of Modern Man" video trilogy with a darkly humorous tale about spoiled and greedy modern men who, in the words of Mr. Burns, would "give it all for a little more".

... and I run and I run and I run - from the place where you sat.

Faye - Water Against The Rocks

A: Faye
S: Water Against The Rocks
C: Water Against The Rocks - Single

It's Faye! You know Faye, from that band Play. I guess you need to say it out loud to get it. Do it. Faye from Play. Anyway, I don't know her, no that Swedish girl group but apparently this Faye girl is the reason why they split up because she always opened her mouth much too much. Or something like that. I might have misunderstood something here.

... beats for you - beats no more.

Will Young - I Just Want A Lover

A: Will Young
S: I Just Want A Lover
C: Echoes

Dancing with a shopping cart? Well I guess somebody had to do it. And who else than Will Young? Didn't even know he had a tattoo. Anyway, since the whole Facebook community is raving about this song and video, I figuered I better jump on the band waggon and join the euphoric buzz on this lame sunday afternoon.

... nothing better than just lying here together - staring out the bedroom window.

Azure Blue - Seasons

A: Azure Blue
S: Seasons
C: Rule Of Thirds

Azure Blue is the new solo project from Tobias Isaksson. I personally haven't heard of either. Tobias is a songwriter and a colorful profile on the Swedish pop scene. Really? His old bands Irene and Laurel Music attracted worldwide recognition, documented from The Allmusic Guide to the blogosphere, but this is a brand new start. Haven't heard of those bands either. But this song sounds lovely.

... there's a time for holding on - and a time for letting go.

Jonathan Boulet - North To South East To You

A: Jonathan Boulet
S: North To South East To You
C: Jonathan Boulet

North To South East To You is a single by a guy, a superb slow burner off a self-titled debut. Once again that guy hooked up with somebody for the video, a slow-mo study of every metal-heads delight, the wall of death. It's a beautifully violent accompaniment to the gloriously triumphant track and is coming directly at you now.

... leave all your wars and all your cares.
