Will Butler - Something's Coming

A: Will Butler
S: Something's Coming
C: Policy

The apocalypse is coming, brought to you by an army of dagger-yielding dancing zombies in polka-dot bodysuits. It's a delightfully weird blend of noisy punk guitar riffs, catchy disco beats, jazzy piano notes and Dadaist lyrics.

... no, he's not your friend.

Trentemøller - Sycamore Feeling

A: Trentemøller
S: Sycamore Feeling
C: The Great Wide Yonder

Sycamore Feeling is a beautifully melancholic downtempo song with haunting vocals courtesy of singer Marie Fisker. Fiskers sensual, intoxicating performance, framed by a lush instrumentation with lots of ambience, make this another great Trentemøller-track.

... all the different voices of your name.

Kate Havnevik - Falling

A: Kate Havnevik
S: Falling
C: Falling - Single

Not every song is beautiful because of the song itself, but because it evokes memories, it takes you back in time, or it opens an entire world that you have forgotten about. Falling by Kate Havnevik is such a song, through and through.

... are we falling out, or falling in?

Sizarr - Baggage Man

A: Sizarr
S: Baggage Man
C: Baggage Man - Single

Meet Sizarr, an indie rock electro pop band from a part of Germany that is as german as it gets. On that note, let me say that I'm never quite sure if languages should be mixed in a song, but if they are, this is how to do it. Oh Einsamkeit.

... i learn the differences between desire and need.

Ben Khan - Zenith

A: Ben Khan
S: Zenith
C: Zenith - Single

"A superhero goes to die by lying on the sun," Khan, cryptic as ever, explains. "Ashamed of what he has done, he begs his love for forgiveness so he can return. But his fate is sealed, and he slowly burns to death."

... I won't leave you near or far.

Lykke Li – Never Gonna Love Again

A: Lykke Li
S: Never Gonna Love Again
C: I Never Learn

If I'm totally honest, I was never a fan of Lykke's Follow River song. You know, it was a question of: when the world zigs, zag. Having said that, I have to admit that I am a huge fan of the growing potential this second album is showing.

... I can't keep running away.

Rihanna - American Oxygen

A: Rihanna
S: American Oxygen
C: American Oxygen - Single

Rihanna debuted her sobering ode to the American dream at a performance during March Madness in Indiana - where she slammed the state's anti-gay legislation. If it doesn't wind up replacing the national anthem, it'd also make for the perfect Empire theme song.

... we sweat for a nickel and a dime, turn it into an empire.
