Spice Girls - Wannabe

A: Spice Girls
S: Wannabe

Surprisingly, mostly to myself, I never posted this before, nor any other Spice Girls song. And ever since Adele wannabed it up in Cordon's Carpool Karaoke, the five Spices are as legit as they are ever gonna get.

... If you want my future, forget my past.

Last Shadow Puppets - Bad Habits

The Last Shadow Puppets - Bad Habits von maxiocio

A: Last Shadow Puppets
S: Bad Habits

Puppets back, alright! A fiery return - after eight years. The metamorphosis of Alex Turner from kid to hustler took the best part of half a decade, but it feels like Miles Kane has been wanting for it to happen since day one, as he doesn't so much sing, but screams instructions, disguised as questions.

... should've known, by the way, you were showing off.

Kelela - Rewind

A: Kelela
S: Rewind

On her debut album, Kelela flirted with disappearance . She was a presence but threatened to dissolve into a shadow of an echo. Rewind is different - her voice, breathy as ever, holds its own among toughened-up bass and drums, hurdling octaves and locking into laser-guided melismatic runs.

... I'll search anywhere for you.

David Bowie - Heros

A: David Bowie
S: Heros

Some of us are heroes for one day. And some of us will be heroes forever and ever.

... though nothing, will keep us together.

AaRON - Blouson Noir

A: AaRON
S: Blouson Noir

AaRON or Artificial Animals Riding On Neverland is a French pop rock musical duo and since their gorgeous debut single U-Turn (Lili) very very very close to my heart - it is, basically, the soundtrack to an entire relationship I had.

... my blackness calls me back.

Seiler und Speer - Ham kummst

A: Seiler und Speer
S: Ham kummst

All around the world, a girl called Adele has been the queen of the charts for weeks. Just one little country doesn't follow that trend: Austria. Meet Seiler und Speer, basically the boy band version of Rolling in the Deep, if you like.

... den Hund den griagst du a ned.

Ian Dury - Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick

A: Ian Dury
S: Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick

Let us end this first week of the new year exactly the way it started: funky like a fox dans une discotheque. And whilst we're at it, let us shed a tear that music will never be like in 1978 ever again.

... hit me slowly, hit me quick.
