Salvatore Ganacci - Horse

A: Salvatore Ganacci
S: Horse

What is one to make of Salvatore Ganacci's Horse music video? In the clip, the Bosnian-born producer plays a well-dressed superhero who enacts vengence on some straight-faced animal abusers. He rides not in a fancy sports car, but in a motorized, oversized shoe. His justice is swift and exact, set to the rhythm of the song's relentless beat. It's kind of funny, but mostly it's just bizarre.

Rüfüs Du Sol - No Place

Australian electronic pop purveyors RÜFÜS DU SOL released an imaginative music video for their hit single No Place last summer, ahead of the group's highly anticipated album Solace. The band had spent the year before in Venice, California, writing and recording said third album, which is largely influenced by the stark desert landscapes of California and their experiences on the road. Zoot Woman - Grey Day

A: Zoot Woman
S: Grey Day

Where Is The Man is the question Zoot Woman asked in August when releasing their latest single. Where is the music video is the question I've been asking ever since. In the meantime, here is a trip down memory lane to Grey Day, taken off the band's sophomore album released back in 2003. Autumn below.

Céline Dion - Imperfections

A: Céline Dion
S: Imperfections

Even this icon has imperfections. In the new music video for her single Imperfections, the Canadian singer takes fans behind the scenes of a photoshoot in which she models a series of impressive outfits which is probably the most Celine thing ever. Dion below.

旗津 - 文橘, Cher

A: 旗津
S: 文橘, Cher

Having no idea where this came from, also not knowing what it says, or why it includes the name Cher, but I took some time and listened to it and it does sound beautiful. If you ever wished for a stunning female singer-songwriter voice singing in Chinese, your prayers have been answered and Christmas came early this year.

First Aid Kit - Strange Beauty

A: First Aid Kit
S: Strange Beauty

The late David Berman touched far more people than he probably realized. One way you can see that is in the range of artists who’ve covered Silver Jews songs since Berman died by suicide in August. First Aid Kit paid tribute to the artist with a gut-wrenching cover of Silver Jews’ Random Rules. The Swedish folk duo also released an original song Strange Beauty in honor of Berman.

Angel Olsen - Lark

A: Angel Olsen
S: Lark

All the narrative action in Lark, the opening track from Angel Olsen’s forthcoming album All Mirrors, takes place before the song begins. If only we could start again pretending we don’t know each other - she sings in the first verse, leaving an entire history in the subtext. In a fittingly dramatic video that visualizes the story with the silhouettes of Olsen and a man fighting behind a closed door, before she pushes outside, comes into focus, and ventures alone to the mountains, the woods, the beach - destinations where we escape the world for quiet contemplation.
