So it was the Oscars last night, which is kind of exciting and makes the day after, as in today, the only day of the year when music isn't the most important thing in the whole wide world. For once, we let movies reign. Anyway, I start liking Santigold more as a Feature than a solo artist. I sometimes get that. Sometimes it goes away, sometimes it doesn't.

And there's no video out yet. As for 'that' voice, and I'm never one to compare artists, it sounds as if Janis Joplin sang Kings Of Leon. Summer 2012, as I said.

This is, quite frankly, one of the best videos I've watched in a while. Why? Because it's one of the videos I've watched in full, which is rare. But this is too good to miss so you shouldn't. Taken from The Shins new album Port of Morrow, which will be released on March 20th (you shouldn't miss that either). And I'm sure they will be touring, right, not to be missed.

It's Beirut! I am loving the video, seriously. I'm easily satisfied: put it in black&white, add some sailors, and I happy. I don't ask for much if you ask me. Besides that, you can't go wrong with picking a Beirut song (background vocals to this statement: whenever, wherever), because nobody dislikes Beirut, really. Nobody I know anyway.

Gorgeousness. The Maccabees, to me, are one of the best British bands around at the moment. Which reminds me, it was the Brits last night (not that I watched it). Let me sum it up for you: Adele, Adele and Adele (she only got two). One Direction (X Factor finalists) got Best British Single. Really? As in really? Seriously really? Sheesh.

Since winter is back this morning, and February is a dirty mistress anyway, I decided to go for a slow one today. Now I'm not one to compare artists, but if you ignore the video and just listen to mood and tone of voice, there might be a slight similarity to a certain Miss Grant/Ray. Still I prefer Lana's styling ten times more.
