Kosheen - Hungry

A: Kosheen
S: Hungry

Throwback to this gorgeous gem from 2002, which is almost twenty years ago, which means I was younger then than I can remember now. Anyway, if you are as much a sucker for nostalgia as me, you'll be pleased to know that this not spotify able record will be rereleased on vinyl next month. Retro below.

... you're like a child with old eyes.

Chromatics - Toy

A; Chromatics
S: Toy

Believe it or not, Chromatics released a new album last year, Closer To Grey. It wasn’t their long-anticipated and still very much missing in action Dear Tommy, but it was very good. Today, the Los Angeles group is back with another very good new track. Their new single is called Toy, and it’s a characteristically cinematic and strobing song. TGIF below.

... don’t want to see your face in my nightmares.

New Zealand indie pop band The Naked And Famous have announced their fourth studio album Recover with the new single Bury Us. The new song captures the energy and essence of their forthcoming record, the band said in a press statement. Listen to below.

Your Smith - Wild Wild Woman

A: Your Smith
S: Wild Wild Woman

LA-based artist Your Smith (formerly Caroline Smith) shared her single Wild Wild Woman last summer which went unnoticed to this blog. Back then and accompanied by a lyric video which shows Smith dancing carefree, embodying the song's lyrics I tried to keep her hiding, all shut up. I tried to keep her quiet, but she's a wild wild woman.

... her face draws a line as a way to get home.

James Blake - I'll Come Too

A: James Blake
S: I'll Come Too

James Blake released the music video for his song I’ll Come Too late last year, taken from his 2019 LP Assume Form. It features archival footage from the BBC Natural History Archive. Matt Meech, who worked as an editor for Planet Earth, Blue Planetand more for the BBC, directed the video. The video follows a penguin and an albatross as they try and find love in the animal kingdom. The editing is done to match the song. Penguins jump on beat and birds ruffle their feathers as James sings about wings. See how it all turns out in the video below.

... but I'm not on my own tonight.
