Kelela - LMK

A: Kelela
S: LMK

Directed by longtime Björk collaborator Andrew Thomas Huang, the clip for LMK places Kelela in crowded club hallways that look as futuristic as her Jam City-produced track sounds. The last single is the first taste we’ve gotten from Kelela’s long-awaited debut album following 2014’s Cut 4 Me mixtape and her incredible 2015 Warp debut, the Hallucinogen EP.

... there's a place for you and I.

White Fever - Sands

A: White Fever
S: Sands

London dark indie-pop band White Fever release their new EP Concrete today. The EP is a collection of stories about love: the tragic love story of a brother and a sister, nostalgia, loss, abandonment and the uncertainty of how to love oneself.

... you wanna live for the confrotation.

MONOGEM - Wild

A: MONOGEM
S: Wild

Monogem hits us with a glossy self-love melody, blending ethereal vocals with simmering synth and pop beats. True to form, L.A. electro-pop artist Monogem’s new single Wild is a funk-fuelled, airy tune that’s more than a little addictive. The track starts mellow and chilled, but gets increasingly spirited with its sprinklings of high synth notes and those Prince-esque guitar licks. Get your kick below.

... life’s too short to not live wild.

Little Dragon - Strobe Light

A: Little Dragon
S: Strobe Light

Little Dragon’s Strobe Light video combines fresh beats and dated views of masculinity in South Africa. The video celebrates that feeling of being young and creating your own universe within your environment and being able to express yourself in any shape or form.

... it has a piece of you.

Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back In Town

A: Thin Lizzy
S: The Boys Are Back In Town

Remember those boys everybody used to chill with? Are they back in town and everybody wants a piece? Nope. But what I do remember is all those kids nobody wanted to hang out with who were the only ones ever to leave that stupid little town.

... them wild-eyed boys that had been away.

Jackson Browne - Somebody's Baby

A: Jackson Browne
S: Somebody's Baby

The eighties were not a decade, they are a state of mind, much like summer isn't a season but a state of mind. Having said that I would still like to point out that my favourite time a year is autumn, but that is different, to be fall, you had to be born that way.

... she's gonna be somebody's only light.

BETSY - Little White Lies

A: BETSY
S: Little White Lies

Following the success of her first single Waiting, this Welsh singer has another wonderful single called Little White Lies. Her bombastic vocals resonate over a masterfully-arranged melody marked by big hooks à la Florence & The Machine, generating a timeless yet triumphant sound of which you can’t simply grow tired.

... I don’t know where this goes.

Tori Amos - Up The Creek

A: Tori Amos
S: Up The Creek

Tori Amos' album Native Invader draws inspiration from the natural world, finding a redemptive hope in its endless cycles of death and rebirth. Lead single Cloud Riders was about riding out this storm, while Up The Creek is more explicitly political, a dark electronic pulse adds a sense of urgency, and Amos’ daughter Tash provides additional vocals.

... we may just survive.

Grizzly Bear - Mourning Sound

A: Grizzly Bear
S: Mourning Sound

Watch Grizzly Bear’s surreal video for Mourning Sound where rainbows erupt from nipples in the Painted Ruins visual. The new video was directed by Beatrice Pegard and stars French actor Clémence Poésy  from Harry Potter. It’s a playful, pastel-drenched commentary on women's liberation, according to a press release.

... let love age.

Foo Fighters - The Sky Is A Neighborhood

A: Foo Fighters
S: The Sky Is A Neighborhood

Dave Grohl directed this beautifully stylized clip, which finds two young girls – Grohl's 11-year-old daughter Violet and 8-year-old daughter Harper – in a cozy cabin reading the song's lyrics in an old book while the group begins to play the stomping rocker on the roof. As "The Sky Is a Neighborhood" builds, the girls become aware of the ruckus, jumping for joy at first but eventually growing annoyed as they try to get some sleep.

... the heart is a storybook.

Björk - The Gate

A: Björk
S: The Gate

You know when you've been out all night, and you're really fucked, and you finally decide you should try and sleep, so you curl up in bed and close your eyes? And then suddenly all this weird shit starts spinning around your brain? Like geometric shapes and faces you don't recognise and other, intangible stuff you couldn't even explain to someone with words? Well, Björk's new video is kind of like that, but better.

... if you care for me, care for me.

Portishead - Machine Gun

A: Portishead
S: Machine Gun

Machine Gun by Portishead made its radio and download debut on 24 March 2008, acting as the lead single from their third studio album, Third. The song was featured in an episode of the British teen drama Skins, which is set in Bristol which is where the band are from.

... you turn myself to me.

Depeche Mode - The Things You Said

A: Depeche Mode
S: The Things You Said

Here's what I've learned. As we grow older and adapt to all things this thing called life has to offer in different experiences, heartache becomes just like any other illness, much like a cold you know you have to sit out for two weeks or three, but with time, the symptoms will cease away.

... they know my weaknesses.

Michael Nau - Good Thing

A: Michael Nau
S: Good Thing

Nomadic singer-songwriter Michael Nau is following up last year's breezy Mowing with new EP Some Twist. The album's first single is called Good Thing and it is, indeed, a very good thing. Have you ever had a Painkiller cocktail (rum, 4 parts pineapple juice, 1 part cream of coconut, 1 part orange juice) on a sunny afternoon? That's what Good Thing sounds like. Cheers.

... you can't find an ocean where it doesn't belong.

Angus & Julia Stone - Chateau

A: Angus & Julia Stone
S: Chateau

Only released yesterday and already on this little blog, comes the single Chateau off the duo' new album Snow. Snow was recorded in Angus’ Byron Bay cottage studio, and saw the siblings write the entire album together.

... don't be scared of what you don't already know.

Radiohead - Lift

A: Radiohead
S: Lift

Radiohead have released a brand-new music video for their song “Lift,” the long-lost fan favorite recorded around the time of OK Computer. The track was recently released as part of their 20-year anniversary reissue OKNOTOK. In the new video, frontman Thom Yorke takes the longest elevator ride ever.

... it won’t hurt ever again.

Lana Del Rey - White Mustang

A: Lana Del Rey
S: White Mustang

Lana Del Rey has shared a video for her track White Mustang. The song features on Del Rey’s latest album Lust For Life, released in July. This clip stars Icelandic actor/musician Eðvarð Egilsson and sees Del Rey taking a ride around a futuristic version of Los Angeles in the track’s eponymous white mustang.

... you held me in your arms just a little too tight.

The Jezabels - The Others

A: The Jezabels
S: The Others

Sydney indie-rockers and my favourite soundtrack in fall The Jezabels may hit their 10th anniversary as a band this year, but they're showing they've still got plenty of fuel in the tank with their new single. So without further ado, congratulations on the jubilee and thank you for all the touching tunes.

... I'm inclined to smash mirrors with my mind.

SZA - Quicksand

A: SZA
S: Quicksand

The second soundtrack to Issa Rae's Insecure features a new SZA song. Quicksand is sonically more assertive than much of the St Louis-born artist's wonderfully hazy debut CTRL; the samples are still smooth and 70s-inspired, but there's brass in the background, and the drums trip between trap beats in the verse and straight funk acoustics in the chorus. Enjoy.

... split the difference if it's still good.

U2 - You’re The Best Thing About Me

A: U2
S: You’re The Best Thing About Me

U2 have shared a single from their forthcoming album Songs of Experience and it might just be the best U2 song of the past 20 years. The band previously released a video for their new song The Blackout after teasing fans about its arrival. Songs of Experience follows their 2014 album Songs of Innocence.

... the best things are easy to destroy.

George Michael Feat. Nile Rodgers - Fantasy

A: George Michael Feat. Nile Rodgers
S: Fantasy

Funking yeah! George Michael’s first posthumous track Fantasy has been released eight months after the singer’s death and features Chic’s Nile Rodgers. The track is a reworking of George Michael’s version of the song that was recorded in the late ’80s, the track was originally meant to feature on Michael’s second album.

... there ain't much point in hanging around, yeah.

Ariel Pink - Feels Like Heaven

A: Ariel Pink
S: Feels Like Heaven

Ariel Pink's full-length album drops on September 15 in LP, CD and digital formats. Presented by NTS, the official music video for Ariel Pink's latest single Feels Like Heaven continues with the hazy, lo-fi visuals that were seen in the Grant Singer directed video for Another Weekend.

... been down that road before.

AROMA - Smile Like a Rainbow

A: AROMA
S: Smile Like a Rainbow

Trashingly charming: meet Hamburg's freshest debut serving up most probably the best indie-electro-pop song of the year. Putting the ooh into gloomy, Smile Like A Rainbow leaves you wanting more, tunes, booze, and most of all, rainbows.

... today is definitely one of these days I wanna drink away.

WhoMadeWho - I Don't Know

A: WhoMadeWho
S: I Don't Know

Danish band WhoMadeWho play on the fringe of pop, working with the likes of Hot Chip and Digitalism while landing on vanguard labels like Gomma and Kompakt. Their latest offering scales the usual funkiness back and takes you on a dreamy pop trip through your mind.

... I'm breathing, thin air.

Goldfrapp - Systemagic

A: Goldfrapp
S: Systemagic

Not a fan myself, but I've heard there are people out there who think this band is relevent, so I guess that justifies this post. Just promise me one thing: never forget the Head First album. And the radio interview Alison gave me constantly chewing on her gum.

... you're my kinda bling.

INHEAVEN - World On Fire

A: INHEAVEN
S: World On Fire

We’re lucky to have INHEAVEN. Not just because the south London quartet are establishing themselves as indie’s most dangerously exciting debut-album-darlings (see ya, Wolf Alice), but because they nearly never existed at all. Enjoy below.

... stupid is as stupid does.

EASTER - CUPPA

S: You Stop The World

Your favourite reason for insomnia has a new songs your ears were waiting for. It's music against politics. One for today's world. And whilst you are at it, make sure to check out the other ten brilliant tracks on the band's sophomore album Wait.

... we have to press on and off.

Wolf Alice - Silk

A: Wolf Alice
S: Silk

Never mind the spec video. You might recognize Silk from the Trainspotting 2 trailer. No matter if you do or don't it's still the perfect track to start your weekend to. And whilst you're at it, also check out Wolf Alice's album My Love Is Cool.

... you're alive and I'm still here.

Mount Kimbie - Delta

A: Mount Kimbie
S: Delta

Mount Kimbie's new single Delta is exhausting and so is its video. With no special guests this time, the production duo create chaos alone. With no guest vocalists, the song carries itself along, building to a muffled, descending organ line that would be mellow if it weren't for the madness around it. Today's world, in a nutshell.
