Clever, I know. By the way, Far East Movement is an electro hop and electronic dance rap quartet based in Los Angeles, California, created in 2003.

Get ready for the final part of Body Talk (out 03.12.10). As I said before, Robyn is becoming one fine artist, who's finally got the shizzle together, in her videos as well as her songs. There is a beautiful twist in the lyrics of this song, which you probably noticed yourself, but I am more than happy to point it out anyway: I'm gonna love you like I've never been hurt before (instead of: loved before). I'm not even going to try and comment on this one musicwise. To me, Lady Duffy is the perfection of natural female beauty and so pretty, pretty woman. She is like the new version of a young Brigitte Bardot, before the old version lost her marbles or whatever. Meaning: the song, the lyrics, the melody and her voice could be all over the place and I would still love it. I guess it is safe to say that it is not.

Autumn's here. Just in case you haven't noticed. Next up is another black and white super-8 music video (apparently 'the gloomy and scenic imagery melts the strange together with the realistic'). Agnes Obel is a Danish singer, songwriter, musician and lives in Berlin.
Somebody said she gets her inspiration trough films and soundtracks. I say I don't care where she gets it from, but it is stunningly beautiful.

So the holidays are over and this is like back to business. French pop-a-holic Uffie, who was the Keisha before Keisha happened, but then Uffie got pregnant or something and went traveling the world to find her something inner something or somewhat. So and then Keisha happened and now somehow, Keisha is Uffie and Uffie is nobody but a copy, apparently, and I am drunk so this is it, and that is that.

Here comes a tune that is nothing less than larger than life. Late as can be, I kept the best for last, and even tho we are leaving gorgeous San Francisco tonight, Scott McKenzie's masterpiece has never been sampled in a more honest way (not that I know of it being sampled repeatedly). I will just shut up and let you enjoy both song and clip.

Kind of played up and down everywhere, kind of didn't like her when she debuted with her album 'Little Voice' - after all, size does matter, even if it doesn't, it still does. But 'King Of Anything' is kind of ever so nice, plus the video is stunningly simple (black and white is definitely the mood to shoot this autumn), and there is a nice twist and turn somewhere in the lyrics too. Ever so easy to keep me satisfied.

Beautiful and stunning as can be (who expected anything else? exactly) it follows the same 'handwriting' as previous re-release 'Wonderful Life'. There are bands who make concept albums, Hurts do concept videos.

Since I am still here, in America, and because I forgot them during hymn week, and since this is one of my most favorite beloved songs of all times (there are a view, I know), this tune is quite an obvious and appropriate choice. The video is kind of cut off in a funny way, but the original is blocked for posting (I don't like) so it is more than fair that they don't get the whole picture. Who cares.

It would have made more sense, I admit, to post this one during my time in LA instead of Vegas, but there is no Vegas without Elvis, if you ask me. Bit of a shame really there isn't a video out (yet) for this song. But, I do think it is one of the best tracks on Flowers album. And it is, actually, the best matching song for today, since I am off in a bit, to Vegas, for the very first time. Impossible to capture my excitement within these couple of lines on my daily blog, but let me assure, it is nothing less than massive. Like Brandon's song, so to say.

Just call it 'Men' like this act does, 'Women' might still be up for grabs. You don't even have to add an oh so overrated 'The'. Men might sound like bands you already know, which is because they are: JD Samson from Le Tigre, Ginger Brooks Takahashi, Michael O'Neill and other special guests (whoever that might be).

It is Sunday, so I figured it was time to scale it down a level, or two. What to say. This must be the most haunting voice in today's 'popular' music, if you want to call it that. And I use haunting in an most and utterly positive way. The video is comprised of Super 8 footage that Antony shot when he first arrived to New York City as a teenager in the early 1990's. Beautiful.

The Bike Song was my number one fav track on Mark Ronson's new album anyways, so I'm more than thrilled that so-called Dj to the celebs Mr. Ronson released this tune as his second single. As always, styled to perfection, although I wouldn't copy that hair colour right away. On a second thought, maybe I should.

The video is purely gorgeous, the voice perfect to mix and match the oh so very reproachful lyrics 'last week, you said you'd call me'. May68 simply nail it. Never listen to this during a work-out, the effect will be addictive as can be. The song, and the work-out.

This one is a grower. And great songs sometimes are most of the time. Since really everybody and anybody is doing it solo this year (Fran Healy of Travis is still to come), it is no surprise that talent proven front man of Maximo Park Paul Smith is about to release a single debut album too. As always, the official statement: there is no need to worry about the band seperating forever, because they won't.

Feel good indie pop made in Basel, Switzerland. Apparently they have been touring all over the country since they debuted in June. Which doesn't make much sence to me to be honest. If they are talented, because they are, and from Heidicountry, obviously too, they should travel the world and become international superstars and sell millions and millions of copies of their album. Insted, they stay here and play for silly cows and dirty farmers...

There's beauty in darkness, and there is beauty in simplicity. One might think We Love sound a bit like The XX, but there is a difference somewhere. And there is more than plenty of room for another band with a similar understanding of what music should sound like. For darker afternoons to come this year, this track, or album, is a keeper.
