It's Empire Of The Sun, I think. For my they are the turning point in popular Australian music, next next chapter. Just look at 'We are the people': it was here, went away, came back, took on the world and is an Über-Song now.

Is it a bad thing if I like the video more than the song? Guess it's not. Then again, there is nothing not to like about the tune so I figure I like it too. Airship have got a new single coming out called 'Kids' but, as always, I am way ahead of schedule and there is no video out yet so I guess this will have to do. Airship are from my other home town, as in the one I chose myself, the greatest city of great Manchester.

White Denim apparently have their album out today, it's called 'D' and is out today, or was yesterday, or what do I know. I don't even know what day it is anymore, which is what happens when you work weekends and you don't go out. Weeks just blend into each other, and so I find myself waking up today thinking: God, it's not Saturday is it. It must be thursday. But hey ho, it's that thank fcuck it's friday day.

Apparently there is a new video out. Which explains, thinking about it, why I couldn't find the old one these past two weeks. Ha, and I never even realized that Wolf Gang adds up to Wolfgang. How thick is me.

Sara Bareilles - Uncharted

On the release of her debut I thought 'so you are not going to write a 'Love Song', big deal lady'. Then 'King of Anything' came out and Miss Bareilles grew on me. Manchester Orchestra are not from Manchester but from Atlanta, Georgia. Makes sense doesn't it. I like a logic when there isn't one, and I love when there is sense in nonsense. Anyway, the band's name is a tribute to this very city in old England which is enriched with great musical history: The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Joy Division, Oasis, New Order, Happy Mondays - just to name a view.

This must be the song I danced to most in my entire life, I believe, so maybe it's bad timing to post it on a Sunday but when I watched the video for the very first time yesterday I just knew I had to. Typically 90's, you think they have been so so bad - then you find something like this and you realize once again that they have actually been worse. Here's to youtube, the greatest thing since a trip down memory lane.

Patrick Wolf - House

Oh look, it's Patrick Wolf. Again. While the release of his next album Lupercalia has been postponed for a couple of weeks, Patrick invites us back to not only his house but home, where plants grow as liberally as insects and birds run free. Not to forget the fish, of course. This is dedicated to one half of Zigitros, who sat on my sofa last Saturday and sang along so enthusiastically.

It's official: Indie is back! Because The Crookes come from where Indie comes, Sheffield, England. The band's name originates from a certain suburb in the before mentioned city. According to the bible of everything Indie, NME, "a band this good is unlikely to remain obscure for long". Its style has been described as a fusion of 'heartbreaking melodies', inspired by 1950s and 60s pop-music and Kitchen sink realism... that's me done copy/pasting.

Yes yes there is an original version to the song too, and it's much more relaxed, indie, sweet and innocent. But there was some kind of competition going on at the time so all the clips are enriched with semi-professional, semi-funny and semi-mazing videos. Which is why I figured the ANR sunny-funny, upbeat tempo and juicy as a watermelon version is more fun to post on a day like today, thursday that is. You can smell the weekend, can't you?

So, Sans Fear might need a couple of listen which means it's not an instant liker, and I'm quite sure it's never going to be my favorite Pete Yorn track ever, but he is so gorgeously talented I'm seriously thinking about burying myself halfway down a dune.

Then, once in a blue moon, there is a band that kind of surprises me because they are actually better than the image I have in this all so weird head of mine. 77 Bombay Street are one of those bands. I didn't even bother to check what the name was all about. Sounds like gin, it's fine with me.

'Rifle Heart' is the bands debut, but if you read their page it's not. It's much more. Apparently. But it is a debut. But it's not.
