This is your daily song calendar - every day there is a new song or music video waiting for you. Maybe you hate it, maybe you love it - maybe you already know it or maybe you'll just discover something new! Either way, it's all about the music and a little bit about the lyrics. And since you're here, I will share what I've learned over the years: An apple a day keeps the doctor away but if the doctor is cute - screw the fruit!

Gorillaz Feat. D.R.A.M. - Andromeda
A: Gorillaz
S: Andromeda
Perhaps it’s more than a coincidence that Gorillaz have returned from a six-year hiatus for an album called Humanz, something Damon Albarn describes as a club record with a “weird sort of darkness about it.” Here's to the world we live in.
... back to when it was cool.

Heaven - It's Not Enough
A: Heaven
S: It's Not Enough
Heaven are a new act associated with Italians Do It Better. Yesterday they’ve debuted their first-ever song with a stylish video directed by Rene & Radka. The quartet has a forthcoming EP and album, both of which were produced by Johnny Jewel, certainly containing the Chromatics leader’s signature dreamy touch.
... you lost that touch, baby.

HAIM - Right Now
A: HAIM
S: Right Now
Good news on Friday always go down greatly. So here are HAIM making a glorious return with Right Now and a video directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. And the great news don't stop there. The sisterly rock trio's long-awaited sophomore album arrives in July.
... you gave me nothing.

Adam Naas - Please, Come Back To Me
A: Adam Naas
S: Please, Come Back To Me
Parisian artist Adam Naas released his new single Please Come Back To Me. The track transcends the limitations of singular genres, blending pop, electronic music and gospel into a wholly unique sound led by Adam's moving, sensual vocals.
... I don't see what you're looking for.

Molly Nilsson - About Somebody
A: Molly Nilsson
S: About Somebody
The synth queen is back with added sax. Today, we're gifted new track About Somebody, which makes a fun
addition to Molly's usual set-up in the form of a sax line. Combined with the song's jauntily empowering chorus
sentiment, it makes for an earworm that you won't want to get rid of
anytime soon.
... damn, I think about you all the time.

Shout Out Louds - Oh Oh
A: Shout Out Louds
S: Oh Oh
After four years away, Shout Out Louds return with the triumphantly sunny Oh Oh. The
Swedes, led as always by Adam Olenius, are releasing the single as the
first taster from their forthcoming fifth studio album - and it's no
surprise that it's a huge, harmony-drenched instant pop classic.
... don't say that it's over, nothing ever is.

Paramore - Hard Times
A: Paramore
S: Hard Times
Four years after their last album, Paramore’s new single is finally here. “Hard Times” is an addictive, Talking Heads-inspired jam that sounds like it could follow “Ain’t It Fun” as a Hot 100 smash. But will it? Stay tuned for true or alternative facts.
... walking around with my little rain cloud.
When In Rome - The Promise
A: When In Rome
S: The Promise
The Promise is a song by the British band When in Rome. First released in 1987 on 10 Records, the song is the lead single from their self-titled debut. It was written by all three band members: Clive Farrington, Andrew Mann and Michael Floreale.
... don't look to a stranger.

The Streets - Weak Become Heroes
A: The Streets
S: Weak Become Heroes
On March 25, The Streets’s debut album Original Pirate Material celebrated its 15th anniversary. The album's appeal has never been confined to Britain - Mike Skinner’s distinctive combination of street poetics and U.K. garage beats made the record a cult favorite with fans worldwide.
... don't voice in my pity.

Hunck - Little Woman
A: Hunck
S: Little Woman
Sometimes all you need is a Hunck. As the world swiftly accelerates into a new era of anti-intellectual and aggressively intolerant machismo, Hunck present a devotional love song to a woman (or all women?), albeit with a sense of irony one can only have in our tiresome millennial era.
... make me yours through the night.

Kendrick Lamar - DNA.
A: Kendrick Lamar
S: DNA.
There's more Lamar where Damn came from. The music video for DNA. stars actor Don Cheadle, who kicks off the video by interrogating Kendrick. “Kendrick Lamar, two first names, huh,” he says. “What the fuck is up with that?” He then proceeds to lip sync the song, switching off with Kendrick.
... I just win again, then win again like Wimbledon.

Jim Pandzko Feat. Jan Böhmermann - Menschen Leben Tanzen Welt
A: Jim Pandzko Feat. Jan Böhmermann
S: Menschen Leben Tanzen Welt
Here is what happens when you let some random chimps pick some random sentences, add some random stock visuals and finish it off with a random melody. One song that sounds exactly like every other song currently being played on the radio. Enjoy.
... irgendwann erfrischt es jeden.

Yello - Bostich
A: Yello
S: Bostich
Never no better way to start the week with a hungover and a song from the dancefloor. Here to kick you into high gear and making your feet itch is Bostich, with means Tacker in high German and stapler in English.
... it's the only thing I want.
17 April 2017
Park Hotel - Gone As A Friend
A: Park Hotel
S: Gone As A Friend
Park Hotel from London explore the mirrorball-noir territory between alternative arena electronica and wired downtown songwriting. Gone As A Friend is their terrific debut, laced as it is with supercool boy / girl vocals and a lovely supple groove.
... I think I can do it better.

The Magnetic Fields - Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits
A: The Magnetic Fields
S: Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits
Happy bunny chocolate Easter everybody. This is such an obvious choice and classic, it's hard to believe I never posted it before. Here's to one of the greatest concept albums every, if not maybe, THE concept album. Keep bunnying.
... let's do it all day long.

Screamin' Jay Hawkins - Alligator Wine
A: Alligator Wine
S: Screamin' Jay Hawkins
Jalacy "Screamin' Jay" Hawkins was famed for his powerful, operatic vocal delivery and wildly theatrical performances of songs such as I Put a Spell on You. He used macabre props onstage and inlyrics, making him an early pioneer of shock rock.
... your porcupine is gonna make you mine.

Yasmine Hamdan - La Ba'den
A: Yasmine Hamdan
S: La Ba'den
Did you think Arabic music was always loud, annoying, over the top and camp? Well, think again. About Arabic music, and your misperception of the world. But for now, listen to Yasmine Hamdan and her soft, perfectly arranged guitar and electro songs.

Hercules & Love Affair feat. Faris Badwan - Controller
A: Hercules & Love Affair feat. Faris Badwan
S: Controller
For the past ten years perhaps no group has simultaneously dominated and challenged our sensibilities on the dance floor quite like Hercules & Love Affair, whose marriage of disco and house has made the Andy Butler-helmed DJ project a staple in alternative nightlife. Here is their latest offering, Controller.
... use me.

Radiohead - Karma Police
A: Radiohead
S: Karma Police
Perhaps the most trenchant visual to come from OK Computer is Jonathan Glazer’s menacing parable for Karma Police. In it, a grizzled man is slowly stalked by a 1976 Chrysler New Yorker, before fortunes are flipped amid a blaze of fire. Along for the ride is Yorke himself, who plays the angel—or devil—singing from the blood-red backseat. The video’s ambiguity—it begins in medias res, and it’s impossible to know who to root for—lends itself to endless interpretation, and to timelessness.
... this is what you'll get.

Dark Rooms - I Get Overwhelmed
A: Dark Rooms
S: I Get Overwhelmed
Dark Rooms is a band who make music sitting at a crossroads, with paths leading out somewhere between The Isley Brothers, David Byrne, and Sigur Rós. They feature imaginative instrumentation and catchy melodies, all spliced together over smooth grooves shrouded in photo-filmic haze.
... all the awful dreams felt real enough.

Blood Orange - With Him / Best To You / Better Numb
A: Blood Orange
S: With Him / Best To You / Better Numb
Two is company, three is a crowd. So let this very triple video, an extended visual for the Freetown Sound album, be your very crowded Sunday delight. Last fall, Hynes shared the video for I Know, featuring ballerina Maria Kochetkova. He recently penned a new song for Blondie, Long Time.
... I feel my bones crack in your arms.

LPX - Tightrope
A: LPX
S: Tightrope
LPX is one half of former MS MR, the MS part to be exact. Tightrope is about wrestling with the dizzying highs and lows of throwing oneself wholly with heart, body and mind, towards a risk.
... hearts aren’t always made to break.

The Last Shadow Puppets - Les Cactus
A: The Last Shadow Puppets
S: Les Cactus
You know Brexit is real when bands like The Last Shadow Puppets start singing in French. No Englishman ever sounded less French while pulling off such a French attitude. So I'll just leave this here for you, may it be your summer anthem, tres tres chaud.
... le monde entier est un cactus.

Koy - Heat
A: Koy
S: Heat
Whoever has been looking for happiness, look no further. Here is your three minutes and thirty-eight second dose of pure upper, prescribed by your favourite doctor. In case you were wondering, it's Hanna & Kerttu's Hanna, and the song should be on your heavy rotation playlist.
... fear don't run.

James - Sit Down
A: James
S: Sit Down
What a diference a Game Of Thrones trailer can make. For years few knew this song, the next minute it is on every playlist around the world!
... my life is out of control.

Black - Wonderful Life
A: Black
S: Wonderful Life
Here I go out to sea again, the sunshine fills my hair, and dreams hang in the air. Gulls in the sky and in my blue eyes, you know it feels unfair, there's magic everywhere. Look at me standing here on my own again, up straight in the sunshine. No need to run and hide.
... it's a wonderful, wonderful life.

YES I'M VERY TIRED NOW - Still Believe In Music
A: YES I'M VERY TIRED NOW
S: Still Believe In Music
Never not tired of believing in music, here's the second track of Yes I'm Very Tired Now's second album Wait out May 26. Judging from the band's new video, the visual world has caught up to the mystical minimalism that runs through their amazing songs.
... you are my fire.

Nelly Furtado - Pipe Dreams
A: Nelly Furtado
S: Pipe Dreams
Guess who released an album 10 days ago with nobody noticing even though it's probably her best record ever. Furtado spoke with The Fader about The Ride. "A lot of it touches on the false hope of dreaming, in terms of sanity versus reality," she said
... wanna be the one to spin the wheel.

Kendrick Lamar - Humble
A: Kendrick Lamar
S: Humble
Another week, another new Kendrick Lamar track. We're so close to that album. And if what he just blessed us with this afternoon is any indication, we're definitely in for something special come April, as Humble offers up Kendrick at his sneering, sharpest best self.
... nobody pray for me.
