If you haven't listened to Vampire Weekend's new record, released last Friday and called Father Of The Bride, please do it now. You're welcome Anyway, the titular term married in a gold rush is a metaphor for the two singers deciding to tie the knot when everything was going well or perhaps more specifically when they had a more-idealized perception of marriage. So basically: at the same time when everybody else does it.
... please don't say it loud.
