Blake Mills has a new album on the way, and he’s shared a new song called Vanishing Twin along with its music video. Mills co-wrote Vanishing Twin with Cass McCombs. Mutable Set is out May 8 and follows Mills’ 2018 instrumental album Look. This record deals with an awareness of two things - people and experiences in life that are precious, and whatever waits down the moat for something to drop, Blake Mills said in a statement. I’ve seen the phrase mutable set used to describe theater backdrops and set props, things like that. And mute might be one of the best musical terms ever invented. So Mutable Set is a term that deals with anything that could change or be lost all together.

This one’s called Désolé, and it’s a collaboration with Malian musician Fatoumata Diawara. “Making Désolé with Fatou was a real moment for me, you know,” Gorillaz drummer Russel said in a statement. “She’s an African Queen.
