Mike Hadreas’ fifth album as Perfume Genius thrums with an intoxicating physical energy. Set My Heart on Fire Immediately follows through on urgency of its title. Describe originally started as a somber ballad before Mike turned it into the distorted country-rock song it is now, keeping the vocal the same, adding a guitar that actually heightens the original spirit of the song - or as Mike puts it: It makes the vocal gentler, and then my vocal made his guitar heavier. I like that wrestle, and that’s what that song is about—feeling on edge physically and emotionally, where you know that there’s more available to you, but you can’t access it in that void of depression.

Perfectly timed for today's Mother's Day, Rhye has shared a new song called Beautiful, Michael Milosh’s first new one-off track since last year’s piano-focused album Spirit. A Box of Beautiful care package tied to the song’s release comes with a candle, an embossed journal, a gypsum crystal, and other items. While self-isolating during the coronavirus pandemic, Milosh has collaborated with Secular Sabbath on ambient-music livestream programming to encourage mental health and inner calm. Indulge below.

Fetch The Bolt Cutters, Apple’s fifth record, is unbound, a wild symphony of the everyday, an unyielding masterpiece.
