Pandemics don’t discriminate, so as the world shut down and millions retreated into their homes, so did Billie Eilish. my future is the first song she wrote under quarantine, and it finds the young pop star once again in a contemplative headspace. She’s not singing to any former lover - she’s addressing herself. Solitude was a cause for despair on when the party’s over.
