I love the way they name their song. I know I've said this before but I'm more than happy to point it out again: The best lines are the most simple ones. Take a basic feeling, describe it in the most basic way, and you got yourself a line that everybody can identify with. Add some country-ish folk-ish americana-ish sounds to it, and you'll find that, in all its glory, it's today's song. Nothing but perfect.

This might not be their best track on their latest album, but it will do for today. And since it's been a while since I actually wrote something worthy about a band I posted, I'll do this again. Now. Architecture in Helsinki is an Australian indie pop band which consists of Cameron Bird, Gus Franklin, Jamie Mildren, Sam Perry, and Kellie Sutherland. You see, there's nothing Helsinki about these architects.

I think it's safe to say I like the video more than I like the song. And that I like the band more than their music. Then again, I like the chorus more than the rest of the song. This is probably going to turn into some sort of guilty pleasure. In short, I admit, as a package, I like the whole freaking thing. After all, what's the point fighting it? Exactly. And on that note '09:00 to 17:00, 17:00 to Whenever' might just be the best a bum title, ever.

And it makes so much and perfectly sense to post it now, now that I'm visiting the French Riviera. Although, bien sûr, this isn't Paris, and this isn't London, and it's not Berlin, and it's not Hong Kong, not Tokyo. If you want to go, I'll take you back one day - It feels so good in the bay.

I like songs like this on days like this. As for the song, I mean the ones that kind of have an increase in tempo in them, but they never reach climax. Think of it as sex without orgasm. Somehow you just don't quite get there. Only in music, it's a good thing, I think. As for the day like today, I'm off to the South of France, so I had to make sure I'll leave Berlin posting a Berlin artist, who just so happens to release his album today.

Here's the thing: To me this sounds a bit like everything else. Editors mainly, and the lot. And I know that this doesn't sound much like a compliment, unless it's coming from me. Because in my little musical universe, it's ok to have similarities, being a band. Being human, it is also fine to have differences. No judgement. Bands are like people, they are who they are, take them or leave them. That's it.

Here's another thought I had (make sure this isn't the first thing you read this morning, because it won't be all tasty): Great music is like a pimple, ready to pop. Situated right under the first layer of skin of the human body, causing a certain and constant aking, signaling to your head that there is something infectious going on. Obviously we all consider great music to be something different, which is great itself.

I think the best thing that Kasabian ever had going for them is that they released their absolute best possible album ever first. And got everybody, including me, hooked on their sound. I'm not saying that they haven't released hot sizzling shizzle since, but that magical whatever it was with the debut has never happened to that extend again. At least not to me. Then again, that is just me.

Christ, here I am, trying to wake up to the world with some extra strong coffee and a smooth Lucky Strike, and what do I see from my window in another window across the street? Some super super pregnant woman doing her morning gymnastics. Anyway, this song is special to me (not really), but dedicated to someone who is and I would describe her as nothing else but truly scandalously scandalous.

Shocking, I know. But I like this anyway, especially the line: He discovered there was nothing there, nothing there to discover.
